Haha, I definitely hear ya on doing dumb shit. I'm gonna run a short oil change interval, a week or so, change it out and probably readjust the valves. Once she's purring like a kitten, the transfer case is getting changed out, transmission fluid changed, upgraded u-joints and yoke, rear diff fluid changed, RedHead steering gear, alignment, cats getting cut out, thinking about putting on a Black Widow Race Venom muffler, pocket flares, blacked out headlights with projectors and HIDs, LED signals (blacked out), blacked out grille (see a theme yet? haha), LED interior upgrade, dash needs to be replaced (typical cracks), still have to install @Tonyrodz visors... phew, out of breath! The list doesn't stop haha.

TYF life.

They're the new invisible kind, too!
Haha Can’t wait to get one!

Got everything back together tonight! Except the EGR blockoff, of course. Also waiting on my OBD scan tool to get here tomorrow, because I left mine in the Taurus! Can’t set the timing properly without it. Good news is she wants to turn over, and backfired a little out of the open EGR ports haha

Truck is back together but won’t fire. Crank spins and backfires out the air intake, or so it sounds, but not constantly. Valves too tight? Timing off? Thoughts?

I think they need a crank relearn after pulling/stabbing distributor. Needs to sync back up with reluctor. But should still run a few degrees off on timing. Double checked plug wires and made sure all electrical connectors in? Fuel system could take a while to prime also
Don't remember seeing but you didn't swap cam right?

rotor needs to point to cyl #1 when you drop the distributor back in, #1 also needs to be tdc when installed.

I did not change out the cam. Still stock. All electrical looks good! How do you do the crank relearn procedure?

rotor needs to point to cyl #1 when you drop the distributor back in, #1 also needs to be tdc when installed.

So this is my question... how do you know #1 is on TDC? Are 6 and 1 on TDC every 360? I know there’s the TDC marks, and I line them up, but from my understanding, you may be on 6 or 1.
