Bluetooth and Phone Rings/Notifications

When my phone is connected Bluetooth to our 15 Yukon, the phone automatically will only vibrate instead of chirping/ringing for texts or emails through the car speakers. This occurs if we are listening to regular radio, XM or music from our phone. Anyone know if this is a setting we can correct to audio through the car speakers?

I checked my iPhone and it does not have any Device settings other than Sync Contacts and Groups. I could not find a way to modify sounds or notifications.

I get a ring for a call , and a tone for a text message in normal operation, but in the car with the Mylink radio, I only get rings for a phone call, no notifications of text messages. Anybody know how to get a text message notification?

I have an early 2015 Tahoe, which was built in May of 2014

EDIT: I DO NOT read texts while driving, it is just to let me know there is one when I get out of the car.

I've been trying to find the answer too because it drives me crazy when I don't know when I have an incoming text and only notice it after turning the vehicle off & look at the phone

Mine displays this behavior as well; ring for call, nothing else. It is probably by design = reduced liability.
