I have a 2012 GMC Yukon and for some reason my cell phone will only connect via Bluetooth when I do it manually through my phone. I have it paired, but for some reason will only connect when I do it manually. Is this normal? If not, what am I doing wrong???

Most likely there's some security setting in your phone that isn't allowing it to connect automatically.. Check your connectivity settings on the phone..

What kinda phone is it?

It is most likely an issue with the phone it's self. Go to your settings and check to see if how you have your security settings set up. If you cant figure it out go to where you bought the phone or your local service provider and have them help you... They will most likely tell you its a problem on GM's side but as a previous salesman I found this to be extreamly rare. How ever There are more phones out there that use different software so it is always a possibility that your phone is not compatible at this time. If this is the case e-mail GM and you can have them check the compatibility of your phone to their systems. More than likely though its your secuirity settings on your phone. Check that first then go from there. (I've never heard of your phone either) and no longer sell so I cant check for your sorry. Best of luck

This is the phone.. Seems to be completely Bluetooth compatible

How exactly did you look it up when you did sell? I'm currently a GM salesman and I can't think of any way I would have of looking that information up?

One of the GM reps gave us a list of phones that they were having issues with... I know they told me that they were working on resolving the issue and there would be software updates available (this was back in July of 2012)that can be downloaded off GM's website and uploaded to the vehicle through the USB port. It to me sounds like a security setting on your phone though.

If the vehicle "forgets" your phone where you have to re-pair it. It sounds like a compatability issue... If you have to manually reconnect it it sounds like more of a security issue on your phone and I would go to a verizon store (or your service providers store) to show you how to set it up so it auto pairs.
