I wonder if the OP saw my post from years ago when I did this on my black truck. It's been a while since I did this, but I think I just did a search for adhesive backed door molding. I found molding that tapered at the end(s), but as I recall I couldn't order the exact length. So, I ordered enough, with 4 tapered ends, and then I had to splice together the pieces to get the proper length and have the ends taper.
Also, I recall that it was a bit of a PITA, 'cause I had to dremel out "pockets" from the underside of the molding for the outserts to stick up into (or else the molding wouldn't lay flat, as you can imagine). This wasn't as easy as I thought because you had to dremel through the double-sided tape backing at first (which got a bit messy). With the right tools and more patience, it's NOT a tough job, really.
I'll try to locate some pics of when I had this on my truck...
