Hi all,

I recently got a 6.2L Tahoe 2024 and got the GM Borla Exhaust (19433760) and got installed by a Chevy Dealership today. The sound is fantastic and love the growl.

However I am hearing a rattle in low revs when slowly accelerating from idle. I looked underneath and noticed some things I'm not sure of - I'm not a mechanic by any means so apologies if I'm way off.

Firsty, there's a pipe section which seems to be flattened. There's another part where 2 separate pipe are connected with each other, but it seems like the narrow pipe is just resting on the wider pipe's sleeve without any fasteners/clips. That part seems that it might be plausible to rattle?

Would anyone have any insights on whether the photos imply a good installation? The Chevy Dealership is nearly 2 hours away so want to get some opinions before heading there.

Thanks!

You are looking at your Y-Pipe which contains the catalytic converters. The crossover pipe is supposed to be flattened for clearance. The heat shield around the cat could indeed be loose but I wouldn't touch it to check until morning when she's had the night to cool off.

The Borla system will be aft of all this stuff along the passenger side. There may be heat shields around the muffler and resonator, if equipped. You can see if any of them are loose after she's cooled off. The exhaust system would be warranted at any GM dealer, so you can take it to one near you if necessary.

best way to maybe find it is get under there with a rubber mallet and start hitting things until one rattles, could be a loose heat shield there are a couple
in most cases if it is a loose shield you can just tighten it up and save yourself a 2 hour drive. if it is the cat just find any place that welds or a muffler shop and have them tack it up.

Does the borla system have the AFM valve after the muffler like other systems?
