If it's the regular Bose (not the LUX) then yes easy to test. The non LUX is whats called a dumb amp. It's basically a 5 channel amp with speaker level inputs.

The amp inputs/HU outputs should be as follows:

AUD Wire Color Amp connector Pinouts

RR - BLK B3
RR + DK BLU B4

LR - DK GRN/WHT B5
LR + BRN B6

RF - ORG/BLK B7
RF + LT GRN B8

LF - DK GRN B9
LF + TAN B10

MISS:

MUTE GRY/BLK B1
RSA ENABLE PPL B2
RAD ON SIG PNK B11
DRAIN WIRE BARE B12

The non LUX systems HU output a speaker level output so it would be easy to check to see if your are getting an audio output off it by using an old speaker. The amp can be tested by using a modified head phones jack and any MP3 or device that allows you to listen to it with head phones...

I can't really help you with testing it, except if you live somewhere relatively close to me I could loan you the one I took out of my console to see if it fixes your problem.
