I know there are numerous threads discussing "which pads and rotors" but this is what makes it more difficult in choosing.

Looking for pads and rotors for the front and rear, not looking to break the bank but dont want crap. I dont tow anything but live in new york city where stop and go traffic is the norm, I have a really heavy foot and need something to slow me down for the occasional 100-0mph stops. Where do I begin?

Any expectations or issues that you want resolved? If not, OEM spec stuff should be sufficient for your use. If you truly want to upgrade, what is your budget?

Looking to get something better then stock. Really like the Hawk HPS pads and Hawk rotors for the front but I hear they dont make rear rotors.

OR

Centric Power Slot rotors, with posi quiet extended wear pads.

Seems both rotors are around 115 each, pads are about the same at 65 per axle. Honestly wasnt looking to spend this much but......IDK...this is why I am asking for help.

Those are both good choices, just pick the one that friendly on the wallet. BTW I have EBC sport rotors and greenstuff pads and I would also recommend them.

Are the rotors gold or black/silver?

Black and silver. Wish they were made of gold :laughing1:!

LOL>...I seen ones that look like they were cadmium plated.....

I just came back from getting the "Karco" inspection so I asked them to give me a price on brakes. He comes back with 928.00 + tax for Centric premium's! Mind you the rotors are about 50 each and the pads about 38 bucks per axle! WTF is he nuts? I am driving a 2007 Yukon not a Bentley truck! smh

I put the Hawk HPS pads in front and rear a couple months ago, along with Powerslot front rotors. The difference in stopping power is significant, as is pedal feel. Several local Tahoe/Yukon/Denali friends who have tried my brakes have almost immediately ordered a set for themselves. And far less dust than stock too. There is absolutely no downside from my perspective.

This "brake thing" has me going crazy! There are several dozen choices on top of that not one vendor is the cheapest. So everytime I look I find it cheaper somewhere else.....I never seen so many choices for a particular "replacement part" in my life!!

I would really love to know what the actual differance is in all these rotors???? SMH! Do I need to go with the same rotors front and rear? Or do I go with something better up front? IDK
