I replaced my hydroboost seal about 6 months ago, it was leaking out the weep hole....
I took the booster apart without removing it from under the dash, I took it apart still mounted on the firewall... worked great.
Problem is, now it is leaking again.
I used a cheap ebay seal... Is that why? Did I leave some trash in the seal grove so the seal wore funny?
Is there a factory replacement seal, without buying an entire rebuilt hydroboost?
I don't wanna replace this every 6 months!!

We recommend that you put all your rig(s) info in your signature so we all don’t have to guess at year, make, model, engine size, trans, rear axle locker…….etc. While you may have posted pertinent info in your first post, you may forget to do it again and the info is needed by us anyway. Makes it way easier on all members that attempt to help, to have that info right up front. It is also recommended that you take a pic of your RPO codes, on the inside cover of the glove box, and post that image in your signature. All this info will greatly help those that will try to help with a problem.

If there is any other info, like upgrades, mods or recent mechanical/maintenance work done, that would be helpful in any post as well. Too many times a question is asked by the poster and after about 10 responses we find out that the poster has done recent work to attempt to fix the problem or work that was done that SEEMS not related to the problem.

You probably pinched one of the oil seals when you took it apart, happened to me the first time I rebuilt mine. Most seal kits I have found are identical.

That's what I figure... That I didn't get it just right.... I took mine apart while still mounted to the firewall. I bought a made in America, better seal (supposedly) this time.

OK, tore into it today...
Oddly, the power steering fluid is kinda milky... ?
But the seal as trashed. New 6 months ago. Dunno. Seemed brittle, and in bad shape.
I just did what I did last time, pulled it apart under the hood, used a stick to push in on the brake pedal to help reassemble... All worked out fine it seems so far....

What would cause milky power steering fluid?
I did hose it down good at the car wash when I put a new power steering hose on it (thinking that was my leak)... ?

Took her for a ride, and have an issue where, slow in a parking lot, if I turn the wheel hard, the brakes apply... online reading shows it is maybe dirty power steering fluid, or air in the line... since it was milky, I assume dirty fluid.
Tomorrow I will flush it, fill, flush, fill, til clean and see what happens...
:(

Leak seems fixed...
:)
