I have a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali xl. 170k. My abs light has been coming on and off pass couple weeks. This morning my brakes made like humming noise when I pressed it at a stop light. Abs light came on and stayed on. Brakes seem to work fine. Would this have something to do with the abs wheel sensor? Gonna flush the system this weekend.

Certainly could be. There may or may not be a TSB on it. If memory serves some years had to replace somethinf with wiring. Sorry that's vague, about all I remember and I don't have all data any more.

Other than a visual inspection of tone wheels and connectors, some sort of live data or code scanning would prove useful

Do you have the ability to read ABS codes? Might see what codes are present causing the ABS light to come on before you get too much further.

There’s a chance the humming noise your hearing may be a failing front wheel bearing. If your rig is like mine, the ABS sensor is integrated in to the wheel bearing assembly. From my recent past experience, it doesn’t take long for the front wheel bearings to completely fail as soon as you start hearing the noise. If it does turn out to be a wheel bearing, do both at the same time and use either Timken or Moog bearings. They are an easy DIY repair with minimal tools required. I would have done mine myself, but unfortunately I was on vacation and about 6 hours away from home.

WJ,My code reader doesn’t pull abs codes. Didn’t know it was such a thing.
Danny, I don’t think it’s wheel bearings. No play in wheels when lifted to check.
I’m just gonna replace abs wheel sensor First and go from there

I am with Danny on this one. May well be a wheel speed sensor sending codes because of a failing wheel hub/bearing. You said no play in wheels. How did you check it? If steering straight and turn slightly from 12 o'clock to 10 or 2 o'clock, does the noise change?

You won’t always have play at first. The first sign is usually a hum or growl noise. I’d jack it up and spin the front wheels to see if you hear anything that doesn’t sound smooth. With these wheel bearings, by the time you feel play, it’s already too late. What you described is exactly how mine started. I hope your problem is easier.
