Let me start off by saying that I work in dealership. If I was a tech instead of a parts guy, I'd either have this fixed by now.....or I'd be an alcoholic by noon! :emotions122:

I'm working on my '99 Yukon. Original complaint was brake lights inop. Upon further inspection, the hazards are out too. I do have turn signals MOST of the time, but not all of the time. The truck is completely stock except the 265s and HIDs.

Knowing that not just brake lamps were inop, along with a few years behind the parts desk (like 14 years), I concluded that the likely culprit is the "Multifunction Switch" (turn signal switch....read in EXPENSIVE). I pulled the column apart (again, not a tech...took almost 2 hours...long story), plugged in the new switch. Much to my despair, I have the SAME condition as with the original part (which I no longer have....broken in anger! :) ).

I'm at a total loss. Anyone have any insight where I should look deeper into this problem???

I'm about ready to install a trailer hitch rack tomorrow. That should give people something to hit BEFORE my back bumper.....without brake lights and all.

HELP!!!!
