I've encountered a serious problem. Both my tailights have stopped working. The CHMSL still works, and both the bulbs in the taillights are still good. When you hit the keyless entry, they still flash. I checked the fuse in the truck and the fuse under the hood and both are still good. has anyone had this problem before? What could it be.
I need some fast help as I'm not going to drive this thing without working brake lights.
Thanks

P.S. its an 05'

Yep, and i have a power probe so i checked both sides of the fuse with the brake pedal pressed and got power on both sides of the fuse. I have no power at the light socket when the pedals pressed though

use the diagram below to start from tail and backtrack into to the system for the malfunction.

also if i read the service manual correctly the key less system the are actually flashing the low wattage park/ marker lamps tat go on when you turn on headlight. not the actual stop light circuits so that should make it easier to find the break with out getting tangled up in the various systems.

Not sure if you have tow hitch and wiring but you can check there also and there is a connecting block up under the right rear corner of the truck check there to make sure all the plugs are in good and tight...

Replace the Fuse

I know there has been a lot of talk about the fuse being good but, I had the same problem on my Land Rover and the fise looked good but there was some defect. So I would just replace it!

Ok, now I'm really confused. I checked all the connections on the passenger side rear distribution block and everything is fine. I went to the drivers side rear where the main harness connects and applied power and the brake lights work. I had no power coming out of the harness for the brake lights though.
Mind you, the CHMSL still works this whole time.
I double checked and changed all the fuses. I tested and have power on both sides of all the fuses.
I bought and replaced the brake light switch, still no change.

I'm really lost here. BTW, that diagram posted above I can't read and when I save it and blow it up, it just gets blurry.

Need more ideas here please.

I just double checked the brand new brake light switch and this is what I'm getting.
White (-) Orange (+) Brown (-) Purple (-) Green/Black (-) Green/White (-)

With the brake pressed I'm getting
White (+) Orange (+) Brown (-) Purple (-) Green/Black (-) Green/White (-)

Does that look right?

Has it rained a lot at all where you are? I know that when we get a good amount of rain, for some reason my reverse lights stop working. Strangest thing. Fuse box is dry, lights don't have water in them. Just might be a short to ground somewhere in the harness.
