I think we need to get thread going in the general discussion about the upgrade. I know just about everyone is going to want in on this. So in theory, I should be able to bolt the caliper of a 2500 4x4 to my tahoe right?

any more info about these? for example what vehicle/chassis that they are meant for? im having a hard time searching for calipers by GVW

I don't know all of the combinations, but for mine, I asked partssource for a 1998 4x4 2500 GMC pickup caliper. It bolted right on.

Is the 3/4 ton caliper still the "one big piston" design. I could probably Google or look it up on Autozone but I'm lazy. LOL

I would like a multi-piston design caliper ...

It's just a bigger single piston. 1/2ton on left, 3/4ton on right.

At least that's how it is on mine :)

You know, with such a weak braking system on these trucks, why wouldn't Chev put the 3/4ton calipers on the 1/2ton trucks anyways, right from the factory?
