anyone who has upgraded to a slotted and or drilled rotor and some decent pads seen any benefit besides looking cool? since our yuk is going to see alot of boat towing, im thinking about upgrading ours, and probally before the upcoming trip would be a great time. but if theres no real benefit on these trucks, i'll just stick with OE replacement pads. i need to check the pads anyway, i am pretty sure they replaced them when they did the alignent and new tires and all that when it got traded in at chevy before we got it but i need to see for myself...plus if they need replacing its easier to tell the wife it needs to be upgraded.... thoughts?

beneficial or just wasting my time?

we have no complaints about the performance as it sits...it stops with the boat just fine. just want to make sure we have maximum braking in the mountains next month loaded down with boat and family...

I think you will be OK, you will of course have to leave plenty of following distance. I would look in to getting a brake controller and trailer brakes, it is money well spent. Without trailer brakes your truck can stop on a dime, but if the truck and trailer aren't traveling perfectly straight, that trailer is coming around in a panic situation. I honestly don't know much about this stuff, I would refer to a local trailer place for a quote and some professional experience.
Plus this route, you are all OEM, and if you need roadside repairs you can actually fix it.

Id wait until you really need brakes. No point in upgrading now if it was recently replaced. Thats my plan anyways
