Just buy new calipers and take your old calipers back for the core, with old calipers leaking fluid on the counter...trust me they wont check to make sure they are the same.

The NNBS trucks actually use smaller brakes on the rear versus the 00-06 NBS truck so it would be a downgrade if you swapped them.

So I'm guessing this won't work for my '99 Hoe?

If you have a 4x2 no, if you have a 4x4? Just maybe...would be interesting to find out!

Got some rotors and brake pads ordered for the 2010 escalade! Now all I need is the brackets for the calipers. Do the parts store carry those part numbers for the caliper brackets, or do I need to pick this up from Chevy stealership?

I am the one that first posted this in Z71Tahoe-Suburban.com, I installed this on my 04 Avalanche the first week on September 2010 and I am still amazed over the improved peformance of the brakes!

Total I spent on this with slotted rotor, calipers, and Z rated pads was around $400 but you can use OEM type parts and spend around $200 +/-

I'm glad that this has been passed around to the various forums for all to use. Feel free to ask any questions!

Part List

Caliper w/bracket 19176793
Caliper w/bracket 19176794
Pads 1092.10 Performance Friction
***Caliper part #'s are Durastop Police Tahoe Calipers, they have high temp seals and some other things that help them handle and dispate heat better***

Joe, nice write up, I even went through the othe forum looking for a working link to the rotors that you bought. The rest of it I get, it looks pretty much like I can order the calipers from Napa.
What pads did you run, can you get them from Napa also?
Bigger question, model mumber and possible link for the rotors?

So if I am searching eBay or Napa, i just need to tell them that I am looking for stock calipers for an 08 Tahoe or suburban and rotors that will fit a 2008 tahoe or suburban?

Here is the eBay link to the rotors I used http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483741a0cf

Pads I used are Performance Friction 1092.10 that can be purchased on eBay for $40 w/free shipping or at a local Orielly Auto Parts or Autozone for around $80!

Remember that you will need the caliper brackets too!

Recently I did the swap on my other Burb and used stock type smooth rotors and the difference is really obvious, the slotted rotors really make a big difference.

Do the 01-06 Tahoes share the same rear discs with the 07+'s? That seller offers a F&R set for 07+ here...

I know the calipers may be smaller on the new trucks but is the disc the same? I'd prefer to do the F&R at the same time with stainless lines & do it all at once...

Just did a little research...according to Vehix...

2003 Tahoe has "Rear Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness (in): 12.9 x 1.2"
2007 Tahoe has "Rear Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness (in): 13.6 x 0.8"

Not worth the swap...I'd rather keep the bigger caliper & thicker rotor on my 03.

so the slotted rotors made a difference. Still trying to find some nnbs brakes to swap in. But was thinking if im doing all that, might as well get new rotors also instead of using used ones that could be warped or so...

I thought slotted rotors cracked? or is that the slotted and drilled ones. Cant remember.

Thanks for the reply. Do I use my existing calipers and just get the brackets or do I ask the auto parts store for ??? what model calipers? 08 Tahoe front brake calipers? And make sure that I get the calipers AND the 08 caliper mounts?

Sorry for the million questions, I am planning on getting these parts in a few days so just want to make sure that I have it all exact.
I have an 06 Suburban 1500

Yes, you need both the calipers and brackets for a 07 and up tahoe/suburban.
