when I started my Tahoe and pushed the brake pedal to put it in gear the pedal went to the floor so I got out and there was a big puddle of brake fluid, I opened the hood and it was all over the belts and on the front of my engine and the puddle was directly under the engine. Has anyone had this problem before or knows what's wrong?

Check the steel lines mine exploded last year when bleeding the brakes after replacing everything on the rear

I bought a stainless set and have been replacing them.. you could be lucky and it is just a line going to a caliper.

Yes, one of the fittings from the proportioning valve was cross threaded and a line split sending brake fluid all over. Just another option to check along with what was mentioned above. My mechanic, once he found the issue replaced the line and valve and that fixed that issue. Rusty brake lines on our year trucks are well noted.

Where is that part located, I didn't get to see where it was coming from because I had to get to work so my dad looked at it and said it was a part near the steering column
