I drove my truck at stock height for about 6 months, and it made me appreciate the lift even more. It really transformed the truck.

I think you made the right call on the wheels, not sure if 20s would work with the spindles, but I can say that the stock 17s were not even close to being able to bolt on, they hit the spindle way before being seated.

The truck will be nice when you are done. And also will ride nice as well since the spindles won't change the ride.

What size tires are you planning on running? With 34s and no keys I did have to trim a little. 33s should require little to no trimming. With 35s you will probably need keys in addition to the spindle. Regarding gears, I got 4.10s and they really work great with the 34s for daily driving and family trips. With 35s I think a 4.30 would be optimal. This is assuming you don't tow much, if towing heavy loads I'd add even more gear.

I think I'm going to stick with 33s, to allow the most articulation, and I'm thinking 4.10 will probably be okay, considering the only things I ever plan on towing is a teardrop camper or a little 14ft John boat.

Well, I just had a reputable off road shop throw on my re-indexed keys, and at their lowest setting I'm an inch higher than the rear ground to fender peak, so I'm rethinking the rear end now, either way I'm going to take a loss on the z71 coil.

On the cheaper side I could do the max trac 2" coil and my 2" coil spacer with my 3" spindle and be exactly level looking fender to peak, but it'll look like I'm riding up hill just a tad, which Wont be a deal breaker for me.

so I'm thinking of doing the skyjacker 2.5" coil with the 2" spacer

Or just running the skyjacker 5" coil and be a full 1" taller in the rear.

If I were to go with any of these options would I need to add anything other than the rear sway links?
Brake lines front and rear?

In a hurry atm, but a couple of things.

I tried the 5" Skyjacker spring. Quality spring, but boy is it big. Was way too big for my truck. Like if the Maxtrac is 2" as advertised, the Skyjacker is a solid 6" spring. With 3" spindle and stock keys cranked still VERY high in the rear. Also, I think you will need other rear parts to go with the Skyjacker 5" spring. If you look at their kit instructions they do show additional parts used on the rear.

I tried to find the Skyjacker 2.5 springs, but could not locate anyone who would sell them separately. Including calling Skyjacker directly. But that is what I would use if you can get them. Then add a spacer as needed.

Regarding spacers, my Ebay urethane spacers are squishing and I need to get them replaced. I found some cast iron spacers on ebay that are wider than most: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-2006-SUV-GMC-Chevy-Cadillac-Steel-Rear-1-Lift-Kit-/172068171484

I've not installed them yet, but they look way better and wider than the other aluminum ones I tried.

Did you get the full 2" from the maxtrac?

If I can get the full 2" id be happy with that, but would prefer the 2.5 suburban springs if they work, I'm almost positive they would

Ok that is a C25R spring. I was actually looking for the C25RS which is the part number I found in a Tahoe lift kit. I'm sure the Suburban spring would work, but I would expect a higher spring rate and a bit more lift from it.

I didn't measure before and after, but IMO the Maxtracs are going to need a spacer. Here are my Maxtracs with a 2" poly spacer, 3" spindle in front and stock keys mostly cranked.

So really not enough spring without the spacers. And due to the fact that they are not tightly curled at the end, they don't work well with the spacers I've tried so far. The end of the spring wants to hang off the edge of the spacer. Although with the new wider spacers I got maybe they would be ok.

To more directly answer your question, I didn't actually measure the difference when I installed the Maxtracs

Higher spring rate = stiffer right?

I guess I'll start another thread to see if anyone's used the c25r
