@Geotrash so my AC isn't working. Whats the problem with it???????

(i couldn't resist, based off the convo in the other thread, but if you want i can tell you what the problem ends up being after i diag it and fix it so it looks like you are some kind of savant when it comes to guessing the problem)
Seems like it must be broken somehow. :p

I'm disappointed in you @Geotrash ...didn't even mention the service bulletin for the 15-17 trucks for the condenser being a known problem. I had to go out all on my own and stumble onto another thread referencing it to find out about it and know where to redirect my thought process to. Do you know how hard it is to do my own research, especially when i wasn't even looking for that? i swear if it wasn't for the power of grey skull nothing would get done some times...still need to use the eyes of chetahra to give me sight beyond sight later tonight to verify leak location with the UV light. i suppose with 160k miles there is a chance the condesner has been done before, but the only reference i can find in the service history to AC is a refill right before it was sold with 150k miles on it. Burb had 10k with whoever bought it there and then traded in to a dealer 5 months later, even got a new torque converter in that time span, but i don't think it fixed the issue. idk if it was new or used, my gut says at some point i'll be doing a transmission but such is life. At this point i like the darn thing to much to not do the tranny when the time comes. Not that hard, just take out the cutting torch, cut the old one off, and weld a new one on right? that's totally how you do a tranny swap. anyhow. I'm rambling. UV pen light gets delivered today, so i'll probably poke around tonight or tomorrow night on the old girl and confirm issue before replacing parts.

Take it as a measure of my confidence in you. I knew you didn't need to be coddled with easy answers. :p

Quick update, thanks to @Geotrash great advice of stumble around like you know how the world works, i was able to verify the AC Condenser as an issue. UV light shows a failure there, so that's a good place to get started.

Also, i haven't decided who to blame for the failure of the condenser, but i want them to know. It's their fault that the new rims and fresh tires are not going on the burb this month. So whoever you are, i hope your happy with yourself

@Geotrash you also failed to tell me to buy the PPE thermal bypass for the tranny since i'll be messing with tranny lines anyways with the AC condenser, now would be a great time to do that too so i can top off once, not twice. Thank goodness i saw that here a week or two ago and suddenly thought of it and quickly managed to use the search function on the forum rather then starting a new thread about it and requiring other forum people to spoon feed me information by hand rather then just using my own knoggin and figure it out myself. Thank the lord baby Behemecoatyl, the one true god as we all know, and was clearly laid out to us with evidence in starship troopers 3. Marauder, which itself was a self evident cinematic masterpiece that i have a nagging suspicion, i may one of the few that actually watched it. Wife still looks at me weird when i make the reference to her.....I'm ready for parts to show up. AC condenser is ordered. PPE valve is ordered. both should be here this week, thinking i may be able to mess with this saturday or sunday, hopefully. I'll grab some R134a tomorrow while i'm in Idaho so i can smuggle it across state lines in defiance of my corrupt overlords.

Also i forget if i mentioned my side project in this thread, but that's moving forward too. It's a super secret side project. totally haven't openly posted about it in the interior section where it belongs or anything like that. but super top secret side project that might just be me wasting $200 is moving forward. Can't wait to destroy something expensive and see if i can put it in something cheap.
