the DD wit nav is gonna eat up most of your budget man, you might just have to settle for a DD without nav, unless you go with an off-brand unit

40-50htz? You don't want to listen to the annoying punchy shit you dumbass. That's for "hood shit". You want to be able to FEEL the notes as they are being played. Kind of like your home surround sound. You're subwoofer isn't tuned at 30+htz. It's around 24-26. So you can hear and but more feel it. Everytime people call me retarded for having something at 20 htz. Let me tell you. My 4 15''s at 20 htz would break your windows.

easy sparky, no name calling please. Re-read forum rules. I will edit your post.

and FYI, I do car audio and have for 23 years, I would NEVER tune to 20hz.

Your ear can just barely start hearing sounds at 20hz. That's the low end of the spectrum for humans, so tuning that low is a waste.

LMAO - 20hz?
Not no, but hellz no. :shakehead:

I find 33-35 works best. Gets loud and still plays 99.9% of everything you can throw at it.

I might have to up my budget then or try to find a decent used one then. I am really just looking for ideas for now, I am still a little ways off from actually popping on a system.

I would love to hear some feedback including quality, brands, pricing, etc...Don't really want this thread to turn into a HZ war..

Take the budget out of the picture for now. Which amp, subs, DD are the best bang for there buck? I would love to hear about your personal system or any other systems that anybody has used or seen.

I'm a pioneer fanboy. Check out the Avic X930BT, hell right now you can find a 920 for cheap. about 600.

Subs: cant lose with Kicker, JL, RF...

but a lot depends on what type of music and how you listen to it. go to a shop and **** around with what they have. let your ears tell you what you like...not us

I also have a Pioneer DD but no nav on mine, my only complaint with it is that it doesnt scroll the freaking filenames across the screen, and as far as subs and amps, man its a really huge selection and you can get cheap stuff that sounds good and you cant get high end stuff that sounds good

but before you buy come back and tell us what you are thinking about and we may be able to find it cheaper

I would hate to have to push buttons to adjust volume like on the 920, but the 930 looks great. There's a couple on ebay going for around $650-700 for the 930.
