First of all, let me apologize for making my first post a problem post. I've been lurking this message board since I purchase a 2014 Tahoe LS last Memorial Day (Manager's Special). And thanks to many posts and videos from this boards, I've successfully replaced my reverse light and all my interior lights LED. Today instead of going to the dealer and be charged hundred of dollars, I've successfully replaced my DRL (Cree), High Beams (Sylvania), and installed HIDs for my Lows (DDM Tuning 35/5000).

And that's when I faced the problem.

Getting into the headlight unit wasn't hard, and installation of the lights were easy. But putting everything back was the problem. For some reason, the bolts won't' align with the bumper. Inside the tire well, I took off the bolt that holds the headlight housing. I also took off the bolt that holds the bumper up. And I also took off a second bolt (closer to the edge) that made pushing the bumper easier when I was pulling the headlight.

So the 2 bolts that's supposed to hold the bumper up is off my 1/4 of an inch. Pushing and pulling the bumper doesn't align them close enough for me to bolt it. And to finish things off the 2 screws that holds the tire well cover won't screw on. And this is happening on both side.

Anyone got any idea what's going on? Thanks in advance.

I actually solved the problem. After posting my first post, I went back behind the bumper and found this piece of metal. I guess after taking off the 3rd bolt (closest to the tire), this piece fell off unknowingly just rests itself where the pseudo fog light is (both side). From there I realized it awas the solution to my problem and I aligned the bolts, including the two for the tire well cover.

In majority of DIY vids and instructions, only 2 bolts are to be unscrewed. I only took off the 3rd to bolt to make the headlight pull-out easier. So maybe my error/discovery will be others' gain.

Thanks!
