Def cheaper and easier, but if you already have it you can tear it down to show the boys what makes a motor "Tick". If the cam bearings are bad you'll need a machine shop to press them in--I paid $350 for that--and at the very least you'll need a new cam. So......jy is def cheaper and quicker.

I love this idea. A learning opportunity.

I was searching through some old photos, and I stumbled across these photos from 30+ years ago, when my oldest son was helping me build my deck. He was my Carpenter-in-training, or apprentice. He got an early start in his trade skills development, and I was reminded of this thread's central theme.

Yashica SLR, with multiple lenses and filters. I used to do a fair amount of photography back then, as we took most of our vacations going to national parks, and there were always great photographic opportunities there. I don't know if the brand even exists these days.

And, I took a scan of the original photo print on my HP scanner, in order to digitize it and post it here.

Well after checking out the truck in person, I think I’ll just go with the tires and let him deal with the rest. The rest of the truck was in pretty rough shape. It has 225,000 miles on it and looks like it was rode hard a lot. Said he drove about 15 miles after he lost oil pressure so who knows how much damage was done. He had done some “patching” of rust areas and it was not done very well. Going to focus on working on the two kids vehicles for now.

You'd be shaking your head at some of the body work I've done. But, I don't have access to welding equipment, and that is one skill I don't plan to develop. I have too much junk around to begin with.

But, the next person to get my vehicles will likely be the auto wrecker. We like the 2002 Tahoe and 2008 Explorer. We both couldn't stand a 2014 Explorer, and most of the new stuff, GM included, is way overdone with tech for my tastes.

Joseph got a mulching attachment for his mower for handling fall leaves. Came with two new blades.

What's the difference between 02 and 03 seats? They look the same as my 02 seats, except they're black leather.
