I picked up my 2001 Yukon XL 4X4 with 5.3 about a week ago so far I enjoy this SUV.

I have noticed it has a Burnt Plastic Smell I looked all over and can't see any thing like rubbing up against the exhaust system or and thing under the dash.

I can't pin point where it is coming from any one had this issues with there's.

This is my weekend taking the family out on weekend road trips not my DD just want make sure it safe.

I also have a intermitted issue with the Brake control Module that I have not fixed yet could this what I am smelling.

A woman friend of mine mentioned the same smell coming from her Nissan Altima a few years back. Turned out she had picked up a grocery bag on the cat and it stuck to it.

I'd check your serpintine and A/C belts, and make sure all accessory pulleys are in good shape.

Is there a fuse for the brake control module? If so, pull it and see if the smell persists.

This. Did this years ago on my Grand Am and didn't notice the bag until it melted so much it left a string coming from the bottom of the exhaust.
