We went from a Mercedes to 15 Yukon Denali. Yes the Yukon has some issues but after 10k mi and. Number of those are dirt rd, it doesnt squeek, rattle etc. ye the seat back fell off, the auto 4wd had issues and i believe the adaptive cruise control is a safety issue but the nearest MB dlr was 250 mi so i wanted something i could get serviced locally.

Ummmm....no.

Plastic bits not aligning, carpet not covering corners, drivers seat back comes loose easily, rattles, etc.

Mine has been bullet-proof for all intents, with the exception to a slight vibration that magically went away when two days ago I went in for a tire balance and rotation.

If your vehicle is that bad.. and U are gonna be that miserable.. get rid of it.. or take it back to dealer and trade in, take a slight loss, and get another. Even if U lose a few grand its worth it to me if the vehicle has all these issues.

BTW. Some of the things (Plastic bits not aligning, carpet not covering corners,) U point out should have been noticed at time of purchase. The rest should be hadled under warranty. The ironic thing is U own a Benz and are complaining about possibly getting hosed, when Benz walks around with a FIREHOSE and blasts people daily.

I have never bought or will buy a Japanese car .

I owned one Mercedes and it was a pain to upkeep and had small weird issues.

American made junk for me all day long.

For me it was BMW.. EFFIN POS. I have owned several Japanese from Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda.. all either no better than American counterparts or absolutely abysmal in terms of reliability and quality (Toyota Camry engine sludge at 11K). Came back to GM 19 years ago and haven't left since.

So I guess you should've have looked at the vehicle better before signing papers. If you knew there were "issues" you should s said something or spoke up. If you were negligent then it really is on you.

First year models have their quirks. Would you rather have a MB that your screwed with once the warranty up, or a truck that will last you 200-250k miles with a couple misfit interior pieces?

Ha ha...your logic is comical. I pay a manufacturer $75k to build me a vehicle, it shows up with quality issues, and it is "on me". Of course I looked at the vehicle and noticed these things when I picked it up - and I also had 3 kids and a wife needing a truck to get to school, practices, etc.. It was not practical or necessary for me to request that everything be fixed prior to delivery - so i wrote my check for $75k and down the road I went.

It's simple: 6 months later the truck has not lived up to expectations, which are actually pretty low.

I don't think he was saying that in a facetious way. The truth of the matter is that upon inspecting the vehicle at time of delivery, if U saw issues, U could have backed outta the deal (at least in MD) or asked to see a different vehicle to compare and see if it was a model wide issue/flaw or exclusive to yours.

For instance, before I bought my Yukon in July.. I bought a Sierra Denali first. I wanted the 6.2L engine and they didn't have any Yukon Denalis at the time (same for the Cadillac dealership across the street with no Escalades) I took the Sierra Denali home.. drove it for a day and called my sales guy up and told him that I just wasn't a "pick-up" guy. They took the Sierra back.. no charge, and I upgraded (certainly price and amenity wise) to the Yukon SLT and paid the difference.

I've purchased site unseen once.. and that was my new Stingray I ordered. Luckily it has been awesome.. no issues, and plenty of grins. :Big Laugh:

If we put all this together we have to said "GM quality control" don't do they job and I know they notice but they don't care about. They just want to get paid and go home, the whole department should be fired by now. [emoji106]

I didn't mean it as an attack or anything. Certainly if I was spending $75k on a vehicle I would expect it to be perfect, so I can understand why you were upset. But one thing I have learned is you can always walk on a deal.

If it wasn't up to your standards you could have asked for issues to be resolved and for a loaner in the meantime. I know a lot of dealers will take care of you if your spending $75k. But if you knew about these problems you coulda/shoulda spoke up.

Like I said take the SUV that will last with a few issues or the euro trash that will screw you after the warranty.

I understand your point, and agree. However, in my case, the quality issues are not worth the time or hassle to have fixed - can live with them. I'm just disappointed that a vehicle at this price point comes with so many issues.
