Hey new guy here. After about a month of searching for a Tahoe/yukon, we've found a 07 Yukon Denali locally within our price range and will be looking at it tomorrow. Exterior/interior is very clean. It had 91k on it.

Anything specific to lookout for during inspection? Possible common issues?

Love the site! Lots of clean rides. I look forward to posting here more!

Make sure there the compressor works bc my 07 esky's just went out. There is a notorious oil leaking issue with these 07+ issues so get that checked out too. Check the dash board for cracks as that is a common issue. Roll the windows up and down and make sure it doesn't vibrate and if it does see if the dealer will do anything about it. Check all the chrome on handles inside and out. They are both known for peeling and there is a TSB to fix those so dealer will replace them for free. They aren't really chrome... they're just plastic :/ That's all I can think of for now... hope that helps.

-be sure to "jostle" each door while it is open and listen for standing water sloshing around in them. Some complaints about water accumulating inside the rear doors (most complaints were rear right)
-open the rear hatch and feel around real well for water near where the carpet goes under the plastic on the sides and rear... I have seen a number of people whos rear hatch leaks through the rubber boot that is to protect all the wires going through the top hinge area.
-cracked dash is a huge one...
-if you are in the denali, be sure that the cup holder and console in front of the cup holder, both of those spring loaded covers break fairly easily because it is cheap plastic. make sure both of those work, as that entire piece is not cheap.
-there has been a few issues with some of the power seat functions, check that all of those are working properly.
-if you are interested in using on star, check that out.
-be sure they include a SPARE key and fob with the sale.
-if it has navigation, check the last few addresses to see if you can get an idea of where it came from... of course there are exceptions, but geographic areas can help predict the previous owners, weather exposure, driving habits etc...
-if you are looking at 07s and even 08s... it may be worth checking to see if it is the original battery and alternator. You may not be able to tell, but most likely you will... I know a lot of people have had to replace their batteries and have had alternator issues... (just from a search on this forum when I had to do mine!)
-obviously, tires at 91k could be next to new or nearly bald...

sorry if some of this seems silly, but I know how my mind wanders when I am eyeing up a new car... you forget about the things you SHOULD be focused on!

Good luck.

Make sure the rear shocks are good. The compressor should kick on to inflate them a little if it hasn't been started lately. It shouldn't be too loud, but as long as you're not moving you should hear it.
Check to make sure the shocks aren't leaking air. Mine are with about the same miles on them. They are expensive to replace.

Found out what my oil leak was. Had the tranny oil changed a little while ago and they reinstalled the tranny oil pan too tight crushing the gasket. Eventually it cracked and started leaking. All is well 300 dollars later.

I just bought an 07 Denali and I love it. Most of the issues the guys mentioned were taken care of by the previous owner while it was under warranty so i haven't had to deal with them. I was told I need an oil pan gasket and that's $400 but my truck isn't leaking oil so that can wait for now. I bought it with 58k miles so it needed some regular maintenance stuff but overall I'm very happy with it. How much are you paying if you don't mind me asking?
