The rust issue is common up north so if it is just exterior rust it might not be an issue. 26k isn't too bad for an 09 with that mileage. I would definitely try to get all of that fixed before buying the vehicle. It's never good to buy a vehicle with a bunch of issues before you even get it... Welcome btw!

I agree, make them fix everything as part of the deal. Most dealers will do it. They wanna sell the car and they have relationships with (or their own) repair shops so they can get it done cheaper. I'd actually shy away from a dealer that didn't want to fix an issue because he is either hiding something or the cost of the repair is quite high.

I wouldn't pay anymore than $23-24k for that truck, fixed, mainly b/c it's an LT. If it was an LTZ with all the bells and whistles, maybe $25ish. I found LTZs when i was looking, fully loaded with 60k miles ranging from $23k to $29k. I even found a few with 30k miles for $26k, LTZ, fully loaded. The chirping is probably just a belt. Easy fix. My truck did the same thing but the mechanic changed the wrong belt twice so I had to pay for three belts and the cost to change the pulleys. Haven't heard a chirp since. I also bought my truck used with no warranty. Only a 5 day, 3,000 mile return policy. I took it to the dealer for a used car inspection, which cost me $119 but well worth it. I figured if anything big came up, I would return it within that 5 day return window. Everything turned out great so far except the truck sucks my wallet dry from trying to modify it all the time. I rarely put any money in my other car except regular maintenance lol.

Remember that if you are looking for 4x4/AWD as a feature you will be paying between 3-5k more. The Esky above is 2wd which reflects the cheaper price. I ran into this issue when looking for my vehicle bc I wanted AWD.
