a friend of mine owns a 2001-06 chevy suburban and is going to get a car alarm w/remote start and wants me to find a good online deal on one (which i have already) but i know when installing it we're gonna need a bypass module for the ignition. i know nothing about them, which one and where to get it. ive seen universal ones on ebay but would rather have the vehicle specific one.

If you can find a Directed 457GW, those work great. It will bypass the Passlock and if it is a 2003-2006 it will also do the doorlocks.

If it's a Suburban look in the far back on the passenger side below the speaker, if there is a door lock switch there you can you that as a trigger for the doorlocks also. If memeory serves that switch is a negative trigger, but don't quote me on that.

By the way if you are installing it, make SURE you hook up the second ignition. If the truck doesn't see 12v on that wire when it's remote started it can cause some serious damage to the transmission.
