The rotors are meant to dissipate heat... hence why they make slotted/dimpled/drilled rotors

True, but the caliper is where the brake fluid and moving parts are and overheated fluid leads to less effective braking. I would not want to cover up a caliper and contain any heat.

In general, I'm also not a fan of the covers.

They look good man, I've had mine on for almost 2 years now, always get the questions of where did I get them and how to install, got mine from Stealntrucks.com (stylintrucks.com) haven't had any kind of problem with heat or any other issues, matter o fact there's a video of install and how they actually help disapate heat somewhere on youtube also on the stylintrucks site, just read this thread and like to say these may be kinda cheesey but they look a hellava lot better than the bare calipers behind aftermarket wheels, and I am always being asked about them...looks good INMO...
