OK, so I've been poking around in this forum and a handful of others all week trying to gather information for this rebuild. There are so many variables, so many opinions, so many options...can't seem to find a post anywhere with the SAME scenario as me so I figured why not start one here on the good ole' TYF right?

I'm having my '97 5.7ltr w/ 150k rebuilt and want to get a little more torque and to be able to pull a trailer a little better too. And of course I want it to sound like a beast:naughty:

Trying to find out what combination has worked for others with a similar setup as mine. It's a 2dr 4x4, on 33" tires, I may go with a 6" lift and slightly larger tires at some point so I want to account for that.

I know it will require a tune, what else? What all did you have to do to :grd:? What kind of cam are you guys running? Did you change the rods, springs, lifters, torque converter, gears, exhaust, transmission?

What worked for you, what was a waste of time and money, ect...Did you end up frying other parts once you had all that new HP?

Then there's always the all important question, how much did it COST you? :fishing1:

Have to keep an eye on this thread. Haven't dug into it much, but would like to know what to look for when the time comes.
