springs are a MUST! and Pushrods are highly recommended
This is what 90% of all ppl replace when doing a cam swap, some is required others are simply because "I am in it this deep, might aswell"
Pushrods, Hardend, OEM is soft weak metal that bends, save sme cash hit up LS1truck, LS1tech and performancetrucks.net, buy a used set of TSP (texas speed) at the proper length, ask your cam builder, DONT buy a pos over the cointer cam.
Valve springs, If your cam requires a min of .600 lift, but .630 lift springs (insurance)
Retainers and caps, Titanium for lighter valve train, increased power and reliability
Valve seals, Viton
Lifters and lifter trays <~~~~~ LS7 stocks are cheap and dont tick, But have QC issues as some dont properly fir the lifter bores. Spend the cash and go COMP.
Timing chain
Oil pump, High volume / High flow, aka port the OEM pump
All associated gaskets with the BEST you can afford.
Valve spring removal tool, LS1truck and Tech has these as they are custom made by members.
Rocker trunion upgrade, stock rockers will fail with big or extreme duty cams causing engine failure
NO MATTER what cam you install you MUST change out the valve springs! DONOT listen to anyone telling you otherwise!!
OEM springs are on the verge of being to small as it is.
Go bigger cam on stock springs and you float a valve, bind the coils and Blow that motor..
Hit Texas speed, Summit racing and Engine performance systems, for complete to end packages. they come with everything you will need.
I reccomend TSP or EPS as they are Texas boys and will bend over backwards to make sure you get exactly what you need.
