Very cool. Here’s a vid on how to program. Will have to try it out!!

Wonderful!!!
We've had our 2016 Tahoe dince Aug.2016, and Ive bumped my head on the liftgate countless times. (We keep it set on 3/4 so we can safely open it in our low-ceiling garage.) After reprogramming, no more head bump! WoooHooo!
Thanks, everyone, especially cardude!!!!!

Agreed. I wish I could get mine to go higher. I have to duck my head every time.

reprogram it to a full height setting. I'm 6'3" and when at full height my hatch is nowhere near my head. my 5'4" wife has to jump to grab though lol

So you can increase the height from the initial setting? I know you can adjust the 3/4 height.
I would love if I could get the tailgate to go higher.

Button in cab has 3 settings. Off, 3/4, Max.

3/4 is a setting from factory

The max height can be programmed to whatever you want. There is a video a few posts back showing method. Super easy

I’m a bit slow this morning. The video I watched showed how to program the 3/4 height. I’ll try the steps but pushing upward in the max setting.

No, you can only program the "3/4" setting. But, you can set that one to full opening height.

Which I assume is no higher than the full setting. ???
I’m looking to increase the overall height.

If you are tall enough to hit your head on the full open setting, I'll bet doorways are too low, mattresses are always too short, and finding properly tailored clothes is a real problem!

At 6’3” I can walk into it. I need to duck my head.

Something is amiss... I'm six feet even, and can clear the liftgate by at least 6-8" when full open. I clear it by 3-4" in my now reprogrammed "3/4" setting. But then, my Tahoe is 4WD, and sits very high off the ground to start with. If yours is 2WD, or has been lowered, that would certainly account for the lower clearance. Otherwise, I'm wondering if yours is failing to fully open to its maximum designed height? (Maybe that's precisely what you are saying!)
