Sounds like it. My Sierra had the problem. I lubed the slip yoke with ATF fluid and it fixed it. Also seems to be the best way since a little ATF won't cause problems if it gets in the tranny or tcase like grease would

When I am accelerating from a stop, my truck feels to slip for half a second. Best way I could describe it is like putting the truck in neutral (while stopped), foot off the brake pedal, and shifting into drive. That happens each time I accelerate some-what hard from a stop. Could it be the slip yoke?

I just had the same issue with my 08 Yukon 67k miles. The dealer wanted to replace the slip yoke for 575 bucks. I showed them the TSB and they reluctantly agreed to grease it. They told me it was not covered under the powertrain warranty, which I thought was bs. I had to pay $107 for the diagnostic fee. So far it hasn't made the clunk noise. They basically said the slip yoke was poorly made and a newer version is out, but they are not covering any of the cost associated with replacing it.

We have the same clunk on our Yukon. I haven't looked at the slip yoke yet but can someone tell me if the SY is on the transfer case (4x4) or is it a fixed yoke at the TC with the SY on the driveshaft? Thanks.

Shoud be a slip yoke on the T-case.
What no one can tell me is what the spec should be on back lash for my 2007 denali. the T-case is full time of course and this could be a contributor of the play combined with the SY. Im lubing mine up tomorrow, then investigating a new one. I have a weird feeling the output shaft on the t-case is gonna go if i dont. Its getting pretty bad.

I haven't done it yet but researched it to death since starting the thread.
For the denali you can't use grease. Pull the yokes and remove any rust dirt ect with a scrubbie. The spray the splines with ATF fluid an close her back up. The fluid on the awd will mix with the grease if you use it. If you must use grease use a small amount of red Lucas brand grease or the green marine stuff.

Sorry to pull up an old thread but I wanted to search on this site for anyone that is having this same issue that I am. I have a 2013 Tahoe with only about 28,000 miles and it is still under warranty that I just purchased used in May 2014. I am having the same issue as described here but it is an intermittent issue. It only happens after I come to a complete stop wait a few seconds and then do a mild to mid acceleration and it feels like a bump that someone bumped into me from behind as someone else stated earlier. There is definitely something wrong transmission or ?

This week it did not happen at all on Monday but it did yesterday so it doesn't happen all the time but with such low miles on this vehicle I am bringing it into the dealer to have them fix. So is this still an issue out there for these vehicles?

There was a Nickle plated yolk that was released on the later years as a fix. Ask them if yours has it.

what is the part number for this nickel plated slip yolk? My Denali does it every now and then.

Thought a 07 Denali 6.2 AWD had a slip yoke problem. There was a clunk when taking off and also when you would give it a lot of pedal from a slow speed. Ended up being a broken motor mount. Simple to diagnose and rule out motor mount: Pop hood, start motor, foot on brake, shift to D, tap gas pedal while watching motor... if the motor jumps up 3-4 inches you know its broke.
