I have an 08 hybrid Tahoe and want to get more into audio, is there a possible way to run an alternator?

My first thought would be "how do I harness the giant battery power I already have?" Maybe there's a way to tap into that and forgoe adding anything else to the engine bay, more complexity, and more load on the engine

you probably coulf, just need the brackets off a normal truck or a ls alt mount. but if you do I'd isolate it from the 12v system in the truck if possible. ground and pos. the hybrid system does a lot of safety checks for voltage in the wrong places at each start up. hate to set off a code and it keep from starting.

on the note above.. we basically have a big prius hybrid with a larger 300v battery. I had emailed these guys about a plug out kit for the truck. they make them for the prius.

it might be the best way to do it. you'd have to call and see what alls involved. but it can easily put out 30kw when needed. Just the ac on a hot day takes 3600w to run.

Yeah keep isolated from the other 12V system
Don't bother try to get a HIGH OUTPUT Caddy inverter because they're VIN encoded
