Hey all,

Despite the shorter Belltech links installed with my drop, my compressor kicked on today and aired up the rear some. I just don't want this happening.

I know I can't disconnect the autoride system per se, but I was wondering if I could just disconnect the compressor itself -- either it's hoses, or via a fuse or electrical connector -- so it can't air up the shocks?

Thoughts? Will it throw lights/codes? Looking for a way so that it won't, obviously.

Thanks!

You could... not sure what CEL's will pop up if ya do. As soon as the compressor kicks on and it realizes its not lifting the vehicle up, your dash will probably look like an Xmas tree.

Could you get your tahoe programmed at the dealership to disable autoride, that way it doesn't do anything?

Don't know if your auto ride system is the same as the one in my buick. But I disconnected the compressor no CEL came on. But it rode like crap. It rode as if I was on a low rider. Those shocks need air to perform good.

I have no idea if it would be the same as disconnecting a Buick's compressor. But, what do you mean that it rode like a low rider? Only when this truck airs up the [rear] shocks does it ride like crap (too harsh, and bobbles over bumps). So, I don't want air in the shocks. I want it to ride on the rear springs (and shocks with no air).

I don't have the autoride on my yukon. U took the words out of my mouth when I disconnected the compressor on my car every single bump the car would bobble badly.
So your saying that when the shocks don't have any air in them it rides good? Well disconnect it and give it a try.

Edgar-- we were probably typing at the same time.

But here's the deal in a nutshell. Since picking up my truck lowered, it has been riding like a dream. Then, I went back to the shop today to pick up my factory stuff, started putting it in the trunk, and the compressor kicks on, and I can see it raising the rear. When I go to drive home, the ride is not as good.

Again, I'm not saying there is no air in the shocks to start with -- I'm saying the ride is not as good after the compressor kicks on and raises the rear.

So, how do I avoid THAT situation?
