They didn't make an all wheel drive Yukon in 04 unless it was a denali. So I'm assuming it's most likely a 4wd that has an auto 4x4 option which isn't the same as all wheel drive. This kind of info is crucial when asking suspension related questions like you are so just trying to help :waytogo:

I've always been a Ford guy til lately the last few vehicles have dissapointed me . Ford also sent me to college and I was a full certified auto tech for them for a few years but went to work for someone else with better pay and benefits . Soo I don't know the specifics of a lot of Chevys . I bought the Yukon because everyone I know has had amazing luck with the 5.3 and so I decided on a Tahoe or Yukon . It was referred to as AWD when looking at it, it was the first I had seen that way. It's as close to AWD as it gets but anyways that's what it is , looks like lift kits are crazy expensive so that's the reasoning behind stock height.

CORRECTION: I have an '04 Yukon SLT which has the All wheel drive feature, it is not 4x4

What does the push button shift look like next to the steering column?

My 04 Yukon SLT does not have 4 wheel drive buttons either, I can only shift into a low mode, but it appears as it always runs on all wheel drive as there is no 2 hi option, I therefore assume it is also an all wheel drive.

It is same as yours ^^^

This is what mine looks like and therefore I would consider this an AWD, not a 4x4, as there are no 2 HI, 4 HI or AUTO 4X4 functions on the push button set up.

While driving, the light is always on and the symbol next to it would indicate to me that this is always in AWD. I can shift into 4LO when needed, but otherwise I would say she is in AWD at all times.

That looks more like an Auto 4x4 symbol with the top one being 2wd.

In my limited research on this, it seems to be a one year only (2004) deal. From what I've read, it's basically auto 4wd with no option for 2 hi.
