Sold my 03 duramax for it. 130k miles, one owner, loaded, 6.2 awd. I was the first one to drive it haha she's black. Coupe little things that are missing or not working so they are all cosmetic. But I stole this thing! I got it for about $7k less than blue book. It is SO CLEAN! I'm excited to get into something that rides a little smoother than a brick. Lol

All wheel drive has power going to all four wheels 100% of the time.

Auto 4x4 only engages 4x4 when it senses the conditions where 4wd may be needed. When not needed only one wheel has power going to it. In a limited slip diff/posi trac situation both rear wheels could get power when one starts to spin. When 4wd is engaged then the one wheel in back and one wheel in front has power going to it until a wheel start to spin then the other wheel is engaged and recieves power to it.

So, no. Completely different. If you crawl under yours you'll see a transfer case at the front of your vehicle for your front axles. All wheel drive does not have a transfer case

Both a 4x4 and AWD vehicle have transfer cases and front differentials. they operate similar but not the same. the AWD does have torque going to both axles all the type (also called full time AWD). 4x4 vehicles operate in 2wd mode, and auto 4wd which is torque to the rear axle until slip is reached and then the front axle is engaged/disengaged upon speed sensor slip readings. (this may also be called part time - AWD depending on your area's terminology). the transfer cases simply divide torque from the transmission to send either fore or aft.
