Okay so this 1999 6.5l Turbo diesel is a gost based on the Chevy dealers in my area. I have checked three and they run the Vin and tell me they the wires/links have been discontinued?
I been to 3 auto parts stores no luck.
The wire/fusable links are not anything special that I can see?
Does anyone have a source for replacement?
Does anyone know the fuse size of the links? 10amp 15 amp ect.

I have been crazed over the lack of knowledge on this item everywhere I turn.

Please help!

Excuse my ignorance on gm diesels but wouldn't any gm 6.5 wires work? Think as long as its from around the 88-98 6.5 it should be fine

unknown at this time.
You can get fusible links as long as you can identify the ones you have. Do they have writng on them or are they color coded at all. Also are the glow plug wires just the bare open type that just jump from plug to plug?

Go to www.dieselplace.com
Their is a lot of info there that will help you.
As far as an actual fusable link, you can get a "fuseable link wire" to replace the section or entire wire.
Not sure what years but GM has made what I know.
6.2
6.5
6.5 TD
6.2's started in 82. 6.5 and 6.2's not sure how many, design etc...
6.5TD their were 3 (actually 4 military go the 4th)
Depending on year, older are non computer controlled, newer are, etc...

Not a whole lot of people that know to much about them.
