I have 98 2 door hoe with a battery drainage problem. its gone through 3 batteries in 4 months. Actually it hasnt been driven in a year due to a heavy foot and a deep mud hole. it should be getting a new motor within the next month. It has a Mile Marker winch and 2 offroad lights. The winch on/off switch is broke off on ON, maybe this is whats draining it? Im not sure. Please help if you can.

Oh yeah, im a newbie to this forum i think this is my 2nd thread. I'd just like to say this forum is GREAT! Before y'all jump on the newb for not searching ive searched and couldnt find anything related to my problem.

i think it could be the winch have you tried to disconnected the power to the winch and try that?

i havent tried that yet. i might try to charge the battery that is on it tomorrow and disconnect the winch and see what happens. i really hate to have to lose the winch.

Well just try it for a day or so and just test it or here is something you could is the wire connecting to the battery put a switch between that to where you can turn it on or off and have it be able to not drain the battery or just take it off tomorrow and try and see what happens

Is there any way i could possibly turn the ON/OFF switch back to off without having to get a new part?
