Can't lock radiator fan to unscrew

It will either break free with the above method and belt still on or you have to get creative. Strap wrench around the pully and if that doesn't work I used a chain wrench. Try not to gouge the pully

Chisel and a piece of pipe. I welded mine together. One whack with a hammer and chisel on that nut and it spins. I couldnt believe it worked but it did. Found the method on youtube.

I tried most of the methods listed here, only one worked for me.
The one I listed.
I will cover my ass alil more and say use a couple pillows and or have a buddy hold and catch the pipe so it doesn't "fall" onto your fender.
I've used this method a few times and it works on first hit every time.

The pulley doesn't even try to spin. the nut just pops loose.

What's your secret to keeping the fan pulley from turning while you're wacking on the nut?

Without air tools its a ***** on any vehicle with a counter nut style clutch. Best to leave the belt on and use a serpentine belt tool on the tensioner and force tension on the belt (rather than relievi ng it as you would to remove the belt) while somebody else handy whcks on the wrench with a hammer in hard single blows.
