So I have an idea for my cargo area since I use it to haul alot of crap that is often dirty or wet and I dont like having to scrub my carpet and be careful of the side plastic. Anyone ever rhino lined the inside of part of your truck? Im thinking pulling up the carpet, laying sound deadener then spray over that with a lining of some sort. Dont know what I would to to the back of the second row yet or the plastic molding in the back. if it works I might to all the floors like this. What do you guys think? Would it look too tackt, make it louder? any downfalls you can think of? Just thought I would see what you guys thought!

Dont have one of those and have thought about it. but I usually have a partial third row in. I wonder if it would be worth it? When this one is old and I have money to buy a new one this is going to get stripped and coated inside and out with rhino lining for a sweet hunting truck, but that wont be for many years

That might be tough to do cleanly, but I don't think it's impossible. Not thinking that the sound deadening material is a good idea though. I don't think you'd want to spray over any kind of material that is attached to the metal via adhesive...the adhesive failing = your spray-on liner failing. That stuff needs to go onto metal. I'm pretty sure the liner in and of itself would do a pretty decent job of cancelling out noise, as it's pretty thick.

If you end up pulling this off, let me know. I'd be interesting in checking it out!

If anything on the deadener I would use Extreme Dynamat. Really sticky on the bottom and has that metal liner on the top. Wonder if that would work out? It was just an idea I had floatin around in my head and I thought I would see what some felow TYFers thought.

Eh, I just can't wrap my head around spraying bedliner onto a soft, non-metal surface that is stuck onto the floorboards. I look at that kind of thing from the standpoint of longevity, and two potential problems come to mind - 1, the linex or whatever you are using could have issues adhering to the dynamat, and 2, adhesives can break down over time, essentially disconnecting the linex from the truck. It's highly unlikely, but if it ever did, the bedliner would basically be floating if that makes sense.

Eh, I'm probably WAY overthinking the issue, as I usually do. :D

I do agree that it's a cool idea, but for me personally I'd just strip the cargo area carpet and spray it right on.

I think they have the cargo liner that has the cutouts for the rear bench. I could swear I've seen them before.

I will have to double check the site, might be an option when you add it to the cart too. I will keep an eye out, thanks!
