i put one on as well as many others have. i made the bracket and got a cheap can off amazon, 25 bucks at the time. if you get the cheap one, the hose they give you is trash, so you'll need to buy some real hose.

A catch-can with a good throttle body/maf cleaning might make everything feel a bit better. Especially if that PCV hose is cracked or on it's way out.

But it will definitely keep oily vapors, and ***** engine oil from getting sucked back into the intake which should keep everything clean over the long term.

I installed an oil catch can on my 07, and I log about 1 fl oz of trapped oil in the catch can for every 1000 miles driven. That's 1 fl oz of dirty oil that does not get recycled through my motor's intake for every 1000 miles of traveling. That is all the evidence that I need to justify the oil catch can's installation.

you'll notice no difference. but you'll have piece of mind that that oil in the can is not laying in your intake. mine is ran right off the top of the pcv valve, so what its catching is what would end up in the intake.
I asked the question not because I doubted anyone. I asked it, hoping an answer would demonstrate the utility. I think it is a good mod. I don't know that it is *necessary*, but I do think there is enough value to add it if you can.
