I got one of those little scanner things and up pops P0135.
In doing some reading here, I saw where someone posted "check the fuse first".
And now I can't find that post again!

Anyone know which fuse?

And if it's NOT the fuse, I read that changing that sensor is a real PITA! True?

thats a bad o2 sensor, its heater is dead. time to change it. only way to turn the light off, its not a hurry up and fix it deal, the heater just warms up the o2 so its not waiting for the exhaust to warm it up, so its still working.

Last night I cleared the code...without fixing it...cuz I just don't like driving with the CEL on. And how would I know if another problem popped up in the meantime? But I wrote down the code so that I could research it.
I figured it would just pop up again today. Drove the car today...and no CEL! But I'm assuming it will pop up again! Maybe when I'm driving to work tonight when it gets cooler outside.

You are correct! It’s on again, so I will replace it. I started looking at the right AC Delco parts ( I only want to do this once, so I’m choosing the OE parts) but there seem to be a couple different part numbers?
From what I’m reading, my code P0135, says it’s the O2 sensor on the drivers side of the vehicle BEFORE the cat ( upstream), correct?
And how do I find the definitive part #, so that I’m sure I’m getting the right one?

thats the driver side pre cat. theres a few part # like a pro delco will have a different # then a normal one. any ac delco up stream o2 listed for your year should work fine.

if theres a difference im not sure what it is. i just end up buying the one thats cheaper.

Check everything while you’re in there. It’s not the easiest one to get to but not awful. See if you need antisieze and tie up any extra connector cable. I think you can get to that one with s wrench and may not need an O2 socket.

Thanks guys!!!
I ordered it on Amazon Prime. AC Delco part # 213-1702. 43.00 free shipping. It’ll be here on Monday.

And I crawled under for a quick look. Easily accessible, open-end wrench-ible, probably due to the fact that it isn’t a 4WD.

I just had the same thing but 4wd Tahoe. Same part but square connector. I replaced the upstream, cleared all current codes and DTC, about a week later I was getting catalytic code, changed the same side downstream O2 to fix, so you might get a CEL only because your downstream sensor is older and reacts slower than the new one.
