Just did an oil change but every time i turn the 2002 tahoe on it flashes at me saying i need an oil change still. I looked in the manual and it say to turn the ignition to the on position with the engine off and then push the gas 3 times fully within 5 seconds. I ve tried this a dozen times and it keeps flashing me the dang change oil msg when i start it up, is there something im missing here

are you refering to the method i origianlly stated trying? If so then yes its suppose to work the same, but i did read online that if pumping the gas 3 time doesnt work retry it but with a fourth time in there. I tried both with mine though and didnt work, thanks for the tip about unpluggin the neg battery cable.

Just did a change in mine, turn the key to acc (1 click forward) and press the gas down all the way 3 times in 5 seconds then turn the key off. Start the vehicle and see if it's gone. It works on mine just like the manual says to do.

All you have to do is cycle through to the oil life status on the display then hold down the arrow button for like 5-10 seconds. It will reset to 100% and should cancel out any light you have.
