They would never do that otherwise denali sale will take a nose dive. Because most people would prefer Chevy over GMC ( don't know why?)

I'm not sure that is the case with the current body style. I know I bought a lesser equipt Yukon SLT over the Tahoe LTZ for the same price. I just liked the GMC look way better

I agree. Had to pony up and get the gmc once I saw the quad headlight (ala wagon queen family truckster) on the Tahoe.

FYI: http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/chevrolet/tahoe/2017-tahoe/

I'm guessing the 8 speed will become a reality cross platform with the 10 speed coming in soon after.

For me...the 6 speed is a big improvement over the 4 & 5 speed boxes it replaced. That being said and having driven 8 speed Escalades and Denali's I can only imagine how smooth the 10 speed will be.

In daily driving around town in traffic, the transmission improvements far exceed the benefits of a bit more power for my use. I have owned a 2004 Mercedes S500 for 11 years with the 7 speed Automatic. Having the extra gears to reach into coupled with variable cam timing puts you right on the sweet spot of the power curve at all times.

I'm looking forward to the 10 speed being paired with the 5.3 EcoTech as a VERY sweet package in the Tahoe/Yukon/Silverado/Sierra line up.

Interesting that you feel the 8 speed is an improvement. My dealer has made the statement that everyone complains about them. It was only brought up because they thought my 6 speed (that has an issue) was an 8 speed.

When I first got the Denali with the 8sp I wasn't too happy about it. There was a lag in the accelertation and seems it was always looking for gears. Then it developed a clunk noise during acceleration (1st gear). Dealer said they refered to TSB 4452434 and determine the transmission was bad.. It was replaced few weeks ago and the Denali totally feels like a different vehicle. The clunk is gone and the lag is gone. very smooth shifting.
One of the tech told me the first batch of 8spd tranny had issues.
The dealer loan me a 2015 LT Chevy tahoe with the 6spd. Lets just say I'm sure glad I ended up getting the 6.2 w/8spd.

The Denali already has the LT1 engine, maybe you mean the LT4 Supercharged (Z06/CTS-V) engine rumored in a Escalade-V model.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the vehicle trim level. LT, LTZ etc.

V-Model would be cool but it would be $100k at GM's pricing.
