Check engine light on/off-on/off

I get a code for the right and left bank running lean every once in a while. It did it quite a bit before I changed the o2 sensors.

Left bank too lean....
That exact same code pops up once in a while and clears itself after some driving on my 97 VW Golf as well. I thought there was a leak in the intake system but possibly the O2 sensor... hmm.
