Check engine only over 60 mph

2002 5.3 4wd. Check engine light comes on over 60 mph. 4wd is inop and forward drive shaft removed. Does it maybe think I'm in 4wd and going too fast ? Dash switch new and not on. 4wd went out in use and replaced front and rear servo motors. To shift it manually with a wrench underneath is very hard so I guess I'm looking for a new transfer case but the over 60 only thing has me a bit lost.

You’re going to need to check codes. I wouldn’t expect the check engine light to be directly related to your 4wd.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. My count, since I started is 10 to 1 and I may explain later if asked, in a PM.

Anyways, May have, no mileage given, finally worn out the catalytic converter(s) and they are starting to clog. When it does this at 60 mph, do you feel a loss of power or is it just the light only that concerns. Either way, always always always get the code(s) first thing and then we can try to piece it together. C'mon man!
