Chevron with techron

Well, I guess I've just been extremely lucky.

Frankly, in my last 20 years of driving, I can't remember a single instance of getting "bad gas" from a gas station. Shell, Mobil, Exxon, Marathon, Speedway, Costco, Sams, BP, and even no-name brands when on road trips in the middle of BFE.

I've also never had any fuel-related issues in my vehicles - clogged injectors, etc. I also don't run any additives either. Current stable of six vehicles includes on with 200k miles, and two with 100k miles.

Guess I should probably go out and buy some lottery tickets.

Oh, and I run only 91+ octane in my Denali.

Wrong octane from Shell 3 different stations locally.. might be the same owner as 87 oct was coming out of 91 pumps

same with Acro/BP 87 oct in the 91 pumps

Did you read that they were putting out 87 in the 91 pumps? Because the few times I've put 87 in my Denali, there wasn't much of a noticeable difference.

Around where I am, the chevron stations are hardly ever visited, most sell like shit also, outdated items on shelf, just a dope smokers outlet store for pipes etc... overpriced equal to or higher than shell. I tried one that was a few years old, pretty clean on major road, within pulling out of the station, truck was popping, stammering, and cut down on power, yep got some water from the fuel, cleared out few miles later, but the chevron didnt seem to run well at all... granted could just be the station, but whatever. The shell around here runs ok, I think all the additives they put in screw with combustion cycles. Exxon/mobil same shit... Runs a bit better than shell for sure over shell and the chevron around here. Valero seems to do the job the best it seems for major station gas. NOW there is a kroger with a gas station on a very busy road here, sometimes they have the best gas, dont know where it comes from, BUT when they have it, my idle shakes go away, truck feels brand new again.

So find what works for you, I know winter blends and summer blends are very different and have effects on power and idle. Down here with humidity and dewpoints going 1 side to other, we get water in the gas and the ethanol just loves this weather.....

To answer the OP question on the additive, it works ok, its not enough concentration like what is blended in the gasoline from stations. 1 bottle for 15 gallons is about best ratio i can tell you... Best fuel additive I have played with was Royal Purple Max Atomizer. Best on the shelf ever. This is 91 octane valero, 25 mile freeway commute 65 to 75 with the royal purple.
