Been seeing a lot of factory Chevy/GMC 6 lug wheels up for sale. Wondering if any of them will move my tire out a little closer to the fender than what I am running currently? I would like to get the tire a little further out away from the suspension to keep it from rubbing with a little larger tire size upgrade. I do not want to run spacers, so no need to mention that.

You can pick these sets up normally with tires on Craigslist for between 200-300 bucks, which is cheap if you are on a tight budget these days.

Any word from anyone that has already looked into this OEM wheel swap please post your findings.
I am sure I am not the only one considering this option these days over buying new wheels and tires.

Here is what my 99 Yukon has on it currently. With 255/70/16's I am getting rub when at full clock. If I go any taller in tire height, this rub will only get worse with these wheels.

Here are some other wheel options I have found in the 6 lug pattern.
Anyone that can help identify the correct rim sizes for these please feel free to post it up. I have only shown the rims that I have found so far that appear to have some offset to move the tire out towards the fender more.

I don't think any of those wheels are going to give you anymore offset except maybe the silverado wheels(the chrome ones), they are 17" and the rest are 16's.

I use a set of 04 Yukon 17" OEM wheels and have no rubbing issues but I don't think they stick out further though....

A good resource to look at OEM wheels and thier specs is HERE. I used it to help verify that the NBS rims would fit on my OBS truck.

HERE is the link for 2004 Yukon OEM Wheels and specs.

Got an update. I pulled off one of my stock wheels, which is the first one I showed the pic of. Measured the backspace on it at around 5.75". That probably explains why I am getting the rub when I turn the steering all the way one side to the other.

I have a set of 15" x 10" wheels that I am going to try to run on my rig. They have a 3.75" backspace. Since they are so wide, I know I will have some tire sticking out past the fenders, but thats OK with me. I just got to figure out what my max tire size can be now so that I wont rub the bottom of my fenders when I go offroad.

After looking at all the stock wheels, I am thinking they all may have about the same 5-6" backspacing as my stock 16" sawblade type wheels. I dont think these will give me the clearance I need to run the larger 32-33" tire sizes that I want to run.
I may end up having to do a torsion bar crank and possilby go to a 2" lift rear spring shackle, but that will be OK also.

Im not sure why you are having rub issues as I run a 265/75/R16 on the same cutter wheels you have in my 95 Tahoe. We should be able to go up to a 33" tire with no lift on factory specs.

My rub issue may be more related to some worn out tie rod ends/front end parts and possibly some torsion bar sag. I am going to look into these issues on my rig and try to get all that fixed. I for sure got some inside tire wear going on.

You too huh? My insides are bald from PO not taking care of alignment with the bigger tires. Also have to replace upper/lower ball-joints as there's practically nothing left :-( they were the first owners. With a 38k price tag I find it hard to believe someone would neglect a vehicle so badly.
