Summer is almost done, I already have the auto start that came stock from the dealer but as most of you guys know it does not work far from the truck. I am having problems choosing between the viper smart start or do the chevy remote link. What do you guys think.

I was going to get the smart start but after reading the reviews and seeing the price of service it's not worth the $$$. Go to the Smart Start app and read the reviews for yourself. I am good with the one mile radius I have on my remote start and temp set on my truck where I can program it to start if it reaches a certain temperature.

I personally plan to get a Viper 2 way remote for my Tahoe. I DO have the stock remote starter too.

I have the Viper Smart Start and it's been great. I have the 5902 and it works beyond the 1 mile radius of remote. The 5902 remote is great, but range is somewhat hampered in city areas. With either an iPhone or an Android phone, the app mimics the remote features.

One feature I like is if the alarm is triggered, you get a text sent to the phone, between 10 to 20 seconds letting you know.

I have one of the auxiliary outputs wired to the mirrors, so if the mirrors are pulled open when closed, the alarm will trigger. Have a problem here in NYC with the signal mirrors getting stolen.

Ive had the smart start on my 08 yukon for a year now and love it definetly recommend it.
