I bought a Denali the other day (woot woot!) and it has all these chrome accessories on it. The gas cap, door handles, mirrors, and rear hitch handle(if thats what you call it) all have chrome on them. The truck is black, and I want it to have a nice clean look. I know they are glued on, I just need to know the cleanest way to remove them.

Goo Gone and a lot of patience gets my vote. Not really the same thing, but I removed some of my plastic molding trim thats on my tahoe, it took a long time and I decided not to remove it all since on the little part I removed, the paint underneath was faded? I would remove the less obvious stuff first and then go from there.

Goo Gone is a good suggestion not knowing what is actually keeping the tacky chrome "accents" on there. You could also give a 3M eraser wheel a try too. I know those work really well when debadging and demoulding to get the adhesive off from the factory badges

3m eraser wheel and goo gone together always has done it for me!

EDIT: I should say that I let the goo gone soak a few minutes then used the eraser.

Really? I've just used the eraser wheel to do the whole job. Many times I'll have to go back and polish the area where the badge(s) used to be but have never used Goo Gone as part of the process. Does it make it even easier? :hmm: If so, I may give that method a try when I debadge my doors this spring just to give it a try.

I used it on my Tiburon and my old amp. Basically it soaks into the 3m tape and makes it somewhat runny then the wheel flaps it off
