I don't know I sold my 00 at 324k for $3000, BUT it only had 70k on a new crate motor, and dam near everything had been replaced or maintained except control arms/ball joints and the rear end housing. aside from that it was good to go for another 100k before needing any major maintenance.

Doesn't really count lol your rig had a new engine @ only had 70K miles

This esky has had most major repairs done also but looks like its still original motor

that's what I mean by "it depends" the "price" versus the condition and "needed maintenance" and anticipated maintenance down the road, maintenance records would help
the engine is a gamble of immediate need versus cost of replacement down the road

Ya I agree not a big fan of AWD myself and I knew if it goes that will be $$$$. I did a test drive a week ago and she ran fine no noises or warning lights. I'm bringing my TOP LSX mechanic for a good look over and offer the guy $2500 since A/C is out

Dave
since it has no A/C its not worth it

323K on these motors, not really sketchy. 323K on the trans/diffs, can get sketchy quickly. No A/C would be a pain right off the bat.

Where has it lived? Service records? What's the interior look like?

20K a year for miles, so lots of highways?

I'd come in more around 1K, wouldn't go over 1,400. Old, slow, outdated GPS working or not.

LOL. You have good words and advice but i'm not broke. Just cheap ;)

This was going to be a local city family hauler. Already have a 01 Suburban with 320K miles and aside from some basic maintenance she runs NEW !!!

Dave
Theres nothing more expensive than a cheap vehicle. The truck is a turd. 500-1000 tops. Keep the hoopty suburban, you already know what you got with that.

Looking at a CLEAN 04 ESV, 1 owner dealer Maintained since new

Good:
Garage kept entire life
Carfax states. Trans replaced in 2018 and their is paper work on it also
1 owner GM Dealer maintained since new
No warning lights on dash

Bad:
Has 323K miles on it
A/C needs repair. Possible actuators ??
Front seats need recover
Front windshield needs replaced
Some scuffs on pass side but body paint are 8 out of 10

My price is $2800 out the door

Ya or Run away ???

Go for it! It's not a lot of money, you know the platform really well, you don't mind wrenching, all good reasons to get it and not look back.
