Whats the best way to clean S/S exhaust tips?

Mine developed black carbon inside and a bit of rust on the outside... I want to get the rust off but dont want 2 harm the S/S finish...

Start with soapy water and a gentle (nylon brush) to get the loose dirt, grit, and grime off. Then you can use a 00 steel wool pad with soapy water to get into the "heavy" grime and oxidation that won't come off with the soap/brush. You don't have to push hard to get the steel wool to do its thing - just keep everything nice and wet (think wet sanding).
